Top 10 Reasons to Give Junk Food Up
May 19, 2007 8:21 pm AdviceEating junk food constantly can be a bad habit for some.
10. It can be messy
While not too much of a threat, cookie crumbs and small chips can create quite a mess around the house. If you do not want to clean up the mess the food makes the next time you have company over, just think about getting the vacuum out and working on the mess.
9. It can damage your teeth
Many sugars found in sodas and chocolates inflict damage such as soreness and staining. Think about having or keeping your mouth white next time you pick up that chocolate bar.
8. Does not provide you with much energy
Similar to how the foods are not nutritious, the fats and oils contained provide little or next to no energy for your body.
7. People will compliment you
When you decide to change your eating habits, you may receive praises and compliments from your family and coworkers alike.
6. Effect on life
Junk food can contribute to other negative values in your life such as ruining day to day activities which require you to be healthy. Also, certain lifestyle choices such as where to go for social events can be affected by your diet, which may encourage you to stay away from certain places.
5. Unattractive to people
Not many people I know enjoy watching others stuff themselves with chips and cookies.
4. Food is Expensive & Wastes Money
Think of all the money you would save if you did not spend it on fats and sweets. Next time you visit the grocery store, ask yourself if you really need the product, and think about ways the money could be better spent.
3. It is not nutritious
Most foods contain useless fats and oils which do not contribute much towards your daily health and are heavy in carbohydrates.
2. Obesity
A primary reason to give up junk food is because you feel obese and want to lose weight.
1. Will improve your self esteem
You will begin to think about yourself more often and overall you will feel better about yourself knowing you have given up on junk food.
