Top 10 Less Common Songs you will not be disappointed to have heard
May 19, 2007 8:25 pm Arts & EntertainmentNOTE: These songs are a personal preference, however, and some may be more popular than others, I just find them to be favorites relatively unheard of on radio or in other media forms. I ask readers to listen to the song at least once before passing judgment.
10. Wearing the Inside Out by Pink Floyd
This track can be found on the album “The Division Bell”.
9. Father Figure by George Michael
Although this song is a single off “Faith”, it was the third, so it is not as well-known. The piano is good in this song.
8. Reptile Theme by George S. Clinton
This fast paced fighting instrumental can be found on the Mortal Kombat Score (not soundtrack).
7. Straight to My Heart by Sting
This lesser known upbeat Sting song can be found on his 1987 “…Nothing Like the Sun”.
6. Foreclosure of a Dream by Megadeth
This song is a ballad that can be found on Megadeth’s “Countdown to Extinction” album.
5. Mad World by Gary Jules
Although Tears for Fears originally composed this song, I prefer the cover version by Jules, which can be found on the Donnie Darko Soundtrack.
4. Antenna Cradle by Graeme Norgate
This song is probably the least known from this list and will probably be difficult to come by, it is from the videogame Goldeneye 007’s last mission, some websites probably offer it, but I am not sure where to look.
3. Under Cover of Night by Martin O’Donnell
Another videogame song, “Under Cover of Night” can be found on the Halo Soundtrack. This is one of the three of my all-time favorites from this list.
2. Orion by Metallica
Although Metallica is my favorite band, most of their songs are well-known, but this lesser known instrumental off their Master of Puppets album could arguably be their best metal work, (and one of my preferred Metallica songs).
1. Mercy Street by Peter Gabriel
The final all-time favorite, this quieter song about depression from Peter Gabriel can be found on his “So” album.
