This enterprising field of future technology shows promise. Kids will be able to play virtual games, scientists can make accurate predictions with varying environmental conditions, and everyone else will get to enjoy whatever they please with a “holodeck-like” invention.

9. Artificial Intelligence
Machines that can think and perform tasks that humans would not normally do is not only ideal, but lives will be spared. While hopefully a Terminator-like scenario will not arise, machines could collect information, gather scientific data and fight crime, replace humans in wars, along with other dangerous situations.

8. Advanced Recycling
As technology advances, so will recycling capabilities. No longer will our trash be sent to landfills and waste sides. The garbage collected in our homes and cars may one day be able to produce fuel for them. Radioactive waste could also be used in nuclear reprocessing centers to be reused or fuel other locations and machinery.

Hopefully by the middle of the 21st century, scientists will discover cures for various diseases such as the common cold, AIDS, and cancer. Not only will countless lives be saved, but pharmaceutical companies that already earn billions will go out of business, unless they finance the funding for searching for disease cures.

While humans have only been able to drive on a 2D plane, extending the reach by adding a whole other dimension to our way of thinking can increase traffic conditions and the number of possible drivers. The idea of a personal flying machine can also mean humans may never have to drive again, with flying cars having onboard navigation interfaces installed to aid poor drivers and handicapped people alike, along with everyone else.

5. Nanotechnology
Microscopic robots will be able to perform a variety of tasks for us in the future. From fighting infections in our body to cleaning our homes, nanotechnology will change the way we live.

Whether mechanical or cloned in a lab, artificial organs can help save lives in the future. No more waiting on the donor lists or looking for an organ that is just the right size.

The demand for food increases every day, while the supply will not always be able to meet the demand. Being able to eat an entire meal in a matter of seconds saves loads of time to perform other tasks. Pharmaceutical companies will be able to calculate the exact number of calories, nutrients, etc. that our bodies will require to function.

Being able to explore our galactic surroundings and launching into space at an efficient cost will increase our knowledge of the universe. Our chances at survival will also increase because “all of our eggs will not be in one basket” so-to-speak, because something may happen on Earth that could wipe out everything living on it , such as a global catastrophe, so when space travel becomes efficient, humans will have already colonized other worlds to live on.

When fossil fuel energies deplete, humans will need to find an energy substitute. Through modern science labs are already exploring multiple possible sources, such as solar and wind power, society will be able to function at peak efficiency without wasting fuel.
