Top 10 Tactics to Manipulate People
September 25, 2007 12:54 am ControversialLooking for some way to get someone to do your bidding? Use these tactics to get just about whatever you want. Take great care though to make sure these plans don’t backfire, as they can be threatening and discredit your reputation, that is, if you have one to protect.
10. Neuro-Linguistic Programming
NLP is the thought that sensory perceptions affected how we communicate. People already have the necessary tools to implement NLP techniques, and the principles of choice and the fact that it is impossible to communicate make it an essential part of manipulation.
An example of Neuro-Linguistic Programming could be that triggering the way situations are perceived, affect the way responses and behaviors take action, through reframing.
9. Instigation
Getting two people or groups to argue about something can be quite fun. Then you can take either side and manipulate the situation to your advantage.
8. Fraud
Be careful when walking down this path, it most cases it is illegal. Whether forging a signature or taking on an entirely new identity, fraud can paths to dreams, riches, ….and prison.
7. False Admiration
Pretending to look up to someone can gain you their favor. It does not matter if the party you look up to is arrogant or not. If they look down on you as just another peon, you can stay in the shadows and wait until the opportunity to strike presents itself. But if the admired remains flattered and humbled by the acknowledgment of mutual respect, view them as disposable once you have acquired all the knowledge possible from them and then kick them to the curb once you have surpassed their talents.
6. Betrayal
Backstabbing allies is a common way to get ahead in life. Examples of this may include snitching on your boss or coworkers to get a promotion, entering gangs or other groups undercover and secretly working against them, and also stealing ideas or plans from the competition.
5. Abuse
While not as subtle as the other choices on the list, abusing someone else with physical force usually works. The victim will usually cave in to your verbal and physical demands. Beware of the victim seeking help, usually in the form of counseling or straightly going to the police, as this can portray you in a negative light.
4. Blackmail
Using extortion to get what you want is probably one of the easiest ways to manipulate someone. After you dig up some dirt, either sell the information back to them at a high price and make a large profit, or hold the information ransom and threaten to expose until you achieve your goal.
3. False Emotions
Expressing a certain way of feeling can get people to think you feel one way, even though you feel differently.
2. Directly Brainwash
Convince your target that your way of thinking is right and everyone else’s is wrong, even if the victim believes the opposite of what you are trying to persuade.
1. Propaganda
Almost every country uses it, whether it is in the form of news media or military recruitment. Propaganda gets the number one spot because no other method can affect so many people so effectively.

2. Directly Brainwashing. I can do this. I can do it all day long. I was physically and verbally abused by my mother (I won’t do that at the size I am to others because I literally cannot BUT) as far as my mother brainwashing me my entire life traumatically, I think I can take on the challenge extremely well.

I like the idea’s of number 4. Blackmail, 7. False Admiration and 9. Instigation.
I am not to keen on commiting Fraud though, i prefer messing with people first.
And from experience, i can say truthfully that number 5. Abuse is very affective as i was on the receiving end of it.

What a facinating blog. I’ve bookmarked it and added your feed to my RSS Reader

I hate when someone goes to a blog like this, and trashes it. This is the way of getting what you want, and getting somewhere in right. If you ethically think it is wrong, then don’t read them.
This is a great blog; and I thank you. I hope to hear more about this; positively breath taking.

The problem with most of the above mentioned tactics is that usually the mark comes to know he is being manupilated. It should actually be done in a more subtle way.

I agree with nick. the above tactics are for the bratty, childish people who aren’t sly enough to actually manipulate someone. manipulation is complete control over ones thoughts and emotions. get it right.
