10. Taxes
There are so many different forms of taxes out there it can drive you crazy, ranging from property tax to income tax to sales tax, with many others. Taxes usually take away over half of your income (If you count the taxes that “your employer pays for”).

9. Big Government
Not many people I know like the expansionist powers of the federal government. With programs like the wiretapping controversy and the creation of the Homeland Security Department, government size is getting bigger and bigger.

8. Corporate Influence
Corporate influence is spread through many forms. From lobbyists in Washington to Media outlets throughout the U.S., it can be argued that corporations have more control than the American people.

7. Finances can burden you
Many, many Americans are currently in debt. Finances have been known to cause trouble for people in all aspects of their lives, such as ending relationships with significant others, and unemployment.

6. Many people are mean
With low life people like crooks and robbers, and higher society wealthy snobs, mean people can be found in many places.

5. Limitations on Freedom
Due to the recent terrorism outbreak, Americans have had to give up some of their freedoms in the name of protection, with documents such as the USA Patriot Act. There have also been restrictions that have been around for longer such as on speech, with various censors on radio and television, and print media.

4. Voting System & Political Parties suck
Some consider the current Electoral College to be outdated. It can also be believed that since battleground states exist, voting is not truly equal, for example, what good would it be to vote Republican in a state like California, where all electoral votes would go to the likely winner, the democrats. Not to mention that you only have two parties to vote for, some “choice”, huh?

3. Corruption and Hypocrisy
Many politicians and corporations are susceptible to corruption, bribes and twisted truths. Politicians come under pressure from lobbyists, who usually represent corporate interests, thus vote in their favor, not the people who voted them into power. As for corporations themselves, there is almost no accountability, since it is a separate legal entity, it can get away with much more than regular people.

2. Violence, Sex, etc. in society
In almost every form of entertainment, immoral acts of violence and sex can be found easily. The entertainment, media industry influences our society, just look at the graphic scenes in movies, or listen to the lyrics of a popular artist, even in magazines, specifically pornographic material.

1. Abundance of Lawsuits
There have been many more lawsuits in the past few decades that have grown exponentially. Some stupid, but memorable lawsuits include the lady who sued the restaurant because she spilled hot coffee on herself. Another includes a man suing a casino for allowing him to gamble while he was drunk. It seems people will sue over just about anything these days.
