Our Earth is great for many reasons.

10. Rich History
The Earth is near 4.6 Billion Years of age, according to recent scientific studies (Not exactly sure when its birthday is). Starting with the very long Precambrian Eon, the Earth was primarily lifeless. Life is estimated to have formed during the Paleo-proterozoic Era in the form of single-celled organisms and bacteria. Progressing into more recent times, the Mesozoic Era is more commonly known as the times of the Dinosaurs. Lastly, modern days with humans and other current species is during the Cenozoic Era

9. Space Placement
The Earth gets to be neighbors with Venus and Mars, both unsuitable for supporting life. Larger gas giants such as Jupiter also act as a shield for the earth from space debris such as asteroids and comets.

8. Natural Disasters
Now you may be wondering why natural disasters are excellent for the Earth, because they destroy life. Tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanoes, and avalanches help provide the Earth’s inhabitants in checks and balances with nature. They also make it an interesting place to live.

7. Natural Resources
With minerals and rocks such as Coal, Oil, and Natural Gas, the Earth produces many sources of energy. People are allowed to heat their homes, drive their cars, and run their computers, all because of the consumption of natural resources.

6. Story-Telling
The Earth has been the subject for great literary works such as “The Journey to the Center of the Earth” and many Isaac Asimov short stories. It is also the subject of debate when considering “Hollow Earth” Theories.

5. Size
Weighing in at roughly 5,980,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 kilograms, the Earth is made up of mostly Iron, Oxygen, and Silicone. It’s mass and gravitational pull give its creatures just enough pressure, too much and our bones would be crushed, too little and we would all float away.

4. Geography
With seven continents and four oceans (five if you include the Antarctic Ocean), the Earth’s geography offers events of all sorts to occur. Arraying from coastal get-togethers with your family, to traveling the oceans on cruises or taking vacationing road-trips, the Earth’s geography is indisputably large.

3. Atmosphere
With approximately 80% Nitrogen and 20% Oxygen gas, the Earth’s atmosphere provides the perfect conditions for life to exist. The varying layers of the atmosphere allow just enough sunlight to keep us warm, not to mention it can produce some fantastic cloud shapes.

2. Landscapes
The Earth has a variety of landscapes, unlike the rest of the planets, which only have a limited number. Deserts, Mountains, and Polar regions are just a few of the regions our planet contains, which also provide for a variety of life forms and habitats.

1. Life
The best reason for why Earth is excellent is because it supports life. Not only does the Earth give the Human Race a chance to live, it is also home to millions of species of plants, animals, and microbes.
